Physical Therapy

Our 12 physical therapists and physical therapy assistant at St. Mary’s Hospital of Superior/Duluth Clinic-Superior are ready to work with you to help improve your mobility. The goal of physical therapy is to strengthen you and allow you to move to improve gross motor skills such as walking.

Our team can help you with:
  • Balance (vestibular rehabilitation)
  • Fall prevention
  • Gait training (walking) 
  • Prosthetic/orthotic training
  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Strength and flexibility

We also offer aquatic therapy in the pool at the Superior YMCA; evaluate for neuromuscular issues such as abnormal tone, contractures, muscle weakness and imbalance; and help find the best adaptive equipment, such as wheelchairs or walkers.

In conjunction with Duluth Clinic orthopaedic doctors, we also offer orthopaedic rehabilitation for conditions including post-operative repairs; arthritis and other chronic conditions; muscle pain; total joint replacements; fractures; back and neck injuries; and work-related injuries.
