Leadership Team

	Rocklon B. “Rocky” Chapin is Executive Vice President of SMDC Health System’s Hospital Division, overseeing four hospitals: St. Mary’s Hospital of Superior, SMDC Medical Center in Duluth, St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth and Pine Medical Center in Sandstone. Chapin came to SMDC in 2005. He earned his master’s degree in hospital/health-care administration from the University of Minnesota.
	Mary Shaw is administrator and chief operating officer of St. Mary’s Hospital of Superior/Duluth Clinic–Superior. Shaw joined SMDC Health System as Duluth Clinic-Superior administrator in November 1999. She earned a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Minnesota.
	Sinisa Vujkovic, MD, has served as Vice President of Medical Affairs for St. Mary’s Hospital of Superior and as Section Chair for the Duluth Clinic-Superior since December 2006. He is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who joined the Duluth Clinic in 2003. He earned his medical degree from the University of Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia, and took his internal medicine residency at Lincoln Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y.
	Karen Strauman has been Director of Patient Care at St. Mary’s Hospital of Superior since she joined SMDC Health System in January 2009. She is a Registered Nurse, licensed in Wisconsin and Minnesota, and holds master’s degrees in public health and health-care administration from the University of Minnesota.
